Multi Mission Aircraft (MMA)

Click here to fill out the Multi-Mission Aircraft Feedback Form - 2 State-owned, contractor-operated, Pilatus PC-12 fixed-wing aircraft, based at Centennial Airport.
- The MMA are used to detect new fires when they are small and provide near real-time intelligence and mapping on established fires.
- Each MMA is staffed with 2 DFPC firefighters who operate the technology and communicate with incidents.
- The aircraft are available 365 days per year.
- The MMA can be almost anywhere in the State within 45 minutes of launch.
- Data collected by the MMA is uploaded to the Colorado Wildfire Information Management System (CO-WIMS), a web-based decision support system that is accessible to designated personnel

Large Air Tankers (LAT)
| - DFPC has an Exclusive Use (EU) contract for 1 LAT, for 120 days per year.
- The LAT is capable of delivering up to 3,000 gallons of fire retardant or suppressant.
- The LAT is based in Colorado Springs, but can be moved to other LAT Bases based on fire potential and activity.
- DFPC has additional Call-When-Needed (CWN) LAT contracts.

Single Engine Air Tanker (SEATs)
| - DFPC has Exclusive Use (EU) contracts for 2 high-performance SEATs, each for 240 days per year.
- The SEATS are capable of delivering up to 800 gallons of fire retardant, suppressant, or foam.
- Aircraft are based at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport, but can be moved to other SEAT Bases depending on fire potential and activity.
- DFPC also has Call-When-Needed (CWN) contracts for additional SEAT and Scooper aircraft.

Modules
| - DFPC has 6 Modules, each with 7 to 10 Firefighters that support local jurisdictions with initial and extended attack fires across the State on a year-round basis.
- A Module can combine with other DFPC Modules or partner with local agency personnel to form a traditional 20-person handcrew.
- Modules assist with planning and implementation of prescribed fire and fuels treatment projects, and wildfire training.
- Modules may also assist local jurisdictions with search and rescue and other incident types based on training and qualifications.
- Modules are currently based in Black Hawk, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Cortez, Steamboat Springs, Granby, and Windsor.

Engines
| DFPC has 7 staffed Engines, each with 4 firefighters to assist and support local jurisdictions on a year-round basis. Engines assist with wildfire initial and extended attack, as well as all-hazard fire and medical response. Engines also assist with structural and wildfire training, prescribed fire, and fuels treatments. Engines are currently located in Alamosa, Greeley, La Junta, Montrose, and Sterling.

Type II Helicopters and Helitack
| - DFPC has purchased two high-performance, standard category Type II Helicopters, both of which will be placed into service in 2024 to assist and support local jurisdictions on a year-round basis.
- Both Helicopters have Helitack crews staffed by DFPC firefighters.
- The Helicopters support wildfire operations through the delivery of water, suppressants, personnel, and supplies.
- The Helicopters can assist with non-fire missions and projects when requested and available, such as Search and Rescue or delivery of personnel and equipment into remote locations.
- The Helicopters are based in Canon City and Montrose, but can be moved to other locations based on fire potential and activity.

Type I Helicopter and Helitack | - DFPC currently has one Type I Helicopter (FIREHAWK©)
- It supports wildfire operations through the delivery of water, suppressants, and supplies.
- DFPC expects delivery of a second state-owned FIREHAWK© Helicopter in 2025.
