News Release: State Fire Agency Statement on Kruger Rock Fire Single Engine Air Tanker Crash

Lakewood, CO- The Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) is saddened to learn about the death of CO Fire Aviation Pilot Marc Thor Olson in a crash involving a Single Engine Air Tanker (SEAT) last night responding to the Kruger Rock Fire in Larimer County. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Olson’s family, our friends at CO Fire Aviation, and the entire firefighting community as we grieve this loss. Read the full release here.

June 1, 2021 –The Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) hopes you and your friends and family have an enjoyable and safe Fourth of July this year. 

If lighting fireworks is included in your plans, please make sure you’re doing it safely and protecting all of your friends, neighbors, and our Colorado open spaces and wildlife by only using permissible fireworks, purchased from a Colorado licensed fireworks store, stand, or tent.
