CRR & Education Branch
Senate Bill SB23-214 provided the Division of Fire Prevention & Control with additional funding. The purpose of this funding was to expand the existing Professional Development Unit into a Community Risk Reduction (CRR) & Education Branch. This was to be implemented by 1 July, 2023.
The CRR & Education Branch is made up of the Professional Development Unit and Community Risk Reduction (CRR). The work of this unit is primarily educational. This educational approach is critical to obtaining buy-in. Particularly buy-in from delegated local government inspection and plans examiners and private third-party inspection professionals. Without these professionals, these programs could not succeed.
