State Fire Agency Names New Training Unit Chief

Lakewood, CO- The Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) has announced Beau Edic as the new Training Unit Chief. This position resides within the Professional Qualifications and Training Section within the DFPC.

“We had several great candidates and I am so excited to announce Beau Edic as our new Training Unit Chief; Beau has the experience, knowledge and drive to fulfill our mission and I cannot wait to see all the good things he will do in this position,” said DFPC’s Professional Qualifications and Training Section Chief, Michael Scott. “In the fire service, training serves so many purposes, it is imperative for all firefighters, paid and volunteer; and this position will oversee the training of hundreds of firefighters across Colorado.”

Edic brings 17 years of experience in fire, including experience with cadet firefighter programs, working for combination and volunteer departments, fire academies, fire protections systems, paramedicine, community risk reduction, officer level leadership and training.

“I am excited and humbled by the opportunity to participate in a program that aims to serve the fire service across the State of Colorado,” said Edic, “Although the task is not small, I hope to expand and ignite a new passion in firefighters for training at all levels of the fire service.”
