The Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code Board (WRCB) was established by Senate Bill 23-166 in 2023 in order to develop a statewide model code for wildfire resilience.

Mission of the WRCB

The mission of the Board is to ensure that Colorado communities are safer from and more resilient to wildfires by reducing the risk to people and property through the adoption of statewide codes and standards based on best practice approaches to hardening structures and reducing fire risk in the defensible space surrounding structures in the wildland-urban interface in Colorado.


Upcoming Meetings

In accordance with Colorado Sunshine Law, all meetings of the Wildfire Resiliency Code Board are open to the public.

Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code 2025

The 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code (CWRC), established on 1 July, 2025 through 8 CCR 1507-39, is one of the newly adopted codes. 

The WRCB has also directed the creation of a Fire Intensity Classification layer for the 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code Map.
