2024 George Mazzotti Fire Chief of the Year

2024 Call for Nominations!

Nominations will be completed online this year utilizing this Google webform. Please nominate a deserving Chief that you feel should be recognized for their contributions to the fire service. One award will be given to a Fire Chief each year. Individuals who are eligible for nomination and selection as Fire Chief of the Year are limited to chiefs of department: career, combination, or volunteer. Once a Fire Chief has been selected as the Fire Chief of the Year, he or she shall not be eligible for the award in future years.

Criteria

Nominations must include:
     • The official nomination form
     • Nomination Justification Essay (included in the online webform)
     • A current resume or CV detailing the candidate’s involvement in the fire service.(Note - this is not the same thing as a job resume. We are looking for the contributions this chief has made to the industry and the profession.)

Nominations may also include:
     • Letters of recommendations from appropriate elected or appointed officials.
     • Other supplemental material that supports and exemplifies the individual’s positive contributions to leadership, innovation, professional development, integrity, service to the public, and contributions to the Colorado fire service as a whole.

Please have all your documents ready to upload before starting to fill out the form, as there is not a save function and you will lose your progress, if you have to come back to it. 

Nominations are due by Monday, September 2, 2024.
