Grant Announcement: Local Firefighter Safety and Disease Prevention (FFSDP) Grant

The 2023 Local Firefighter Safety and Disease Prevention (FFSDP) Grant Application Period opens on Monday, January 16, 2023 and closes on Monday, February 20, 2023

The Local Firefighter Safety and Disease Prevention (FFSDP) Grant provides reimbursement for equipment and training designed to increase firefighter safety and prevent occupation-related diseases. 

There are several changes this year including:

  • Agencies are limited to a single project up to the grant award maximum of $20,000.00 
  • National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) reporting compliance for calendar years 2020 and 2021 is required.
  • Completion of a DFPC Risk Assessment and a 2021 financial statement is required. 
  • A new item, the Highway Traffic Safety Vests and Guardian Lights was added to 2023 Eligible Equipment Grand Funding List
